John Steel and Animals & Friends

Founder member of 60's legends The Animals, John Steel talks to SFR in an interview recorded on 9th May 2006.

John's involvement with the Animals spans over 40 years, playing along side band members like Alan Price and Eric Burdon. John Steel played drums on some truly memorable R&B anthems: - "We've Got To Get Out of This Place", "I'm Crying" and ofcourse "House of The Rising Sun". He was in London at the birth of the Mod movement but reveals that when they left Newcastle, the Animals didn't even know what Mods were. John tells all in this fascinating interview.
