The beat groups of the 1960's produced some of the best and most influential popular music of the century and their impact is still felt today. Since we started webcasting, Scooter Forums Radio has featured hundreds of records, from this incredibly creative period, by dozens of bands, some household names and others less well known.

Bands like The Yardbirds, who were a springboard for such talents as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. The Who, The Kinks and The Small Faces whose records dominated the decade's music charts. But also many lesser and little known bands like The Sorrows, The Koobas and The Beatstalkers. And bands from outside the UK - the fantastic Easybeats from Australia, The Tages from Sweden and Golden Earring from Holland. These bands inspired not only their own generation, but provided the inspiration to the Mod Revival of the late 70's and to the Britpop bands of the 90's.

In the pages that follow, we catalogue many of the bands that have been featured on SFR, with record covers and video clips (where we can) and, most importantly, our recommended tracks for you to discover and enjoy. There are many more bands to catalogue (this is a work in progress). If you'd like us to feature a band that we haven't yet covered, please contact beatbands@scooter-forums.com
