(Cardiff 1966) Andy Fairweather-Low (vocals), Neil Jones (lead guitar) Blue Eaver (organ), Allan Jones, Mike Smith (brass), Clive Taylor (bass) Dennis Byron (drums). Enjoyed a string of hits including "If Paradise is Half as Nice". Recorded on Immediate.

ANDWELLAS DREAM  

(UK 1969) Dave Lewis (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Nigel Smith (bass), Gordon Barton (drums). An interesting late sixties beat band that produced two singles on CBS and an album on RCA.

THE ART WOODS  

(UK 1964). Arthur Wood (vocals), Jon Lord (organ) Derek Griffiths (guitar), Malcolm Pool (bass) and Keef Hartley (drums). Art Wood was the elder brother of Ron Wood (of the Faces). Popular London R&B outfit. The group became St Valentines Day Massacre. Jon Lord later made an impact with Deep Purple.

THE ACTION  

(London 1963) Reggie King (vocals), Alan King (rhythm guitar) Nick Evans (bass), Peter Watson (lead guitar) and Roger Powell (drums). Started life as "The Boyfriends", then "The Boys" before "The Action". Popular club soul band. The band went through several line up changes before calling it quits.

THE ALAN BOWN SET  

(UK Mid Sixties) Alan Bown was a trumpeter and his band had numrous and frequest line up changes. Vocalists included Robert Palmer who went on to a succesful solo career in the 1970's.

THE ANIMALS  
(Newcastle 1959) Alan Price (keyboards), Chas Chandler (bass), Hilton Valentine (guitar) and John Steel (drums). Joined by Eric Burdon in 1962. Wild R&B band with a hard hitting sound, inspired by artists like Jimmy Reed. Had a massive hit with "House of The Rising Sun" which went to no.1 both sides of the Atlantic. Line up changes during the 60's and 70's but now gigging with a classic line up as "Animals & Friends".

THE ATTACK  

(UK) Little known and underated 60's beat band with a crisp R&B sound. Signed with Don Arden's agency and became infamous for their version of "Hi Ho Silver Lining" in 1967. The banmd folded the same year when guitarist David O'List left to join The Nice.
