(Harrow 1964) Mike d'Abo (vocals, piano), John Gaydon (guitar, vocals), Dave Wilkinson (bass) and James Rugge-Price (drums) met at Harrow public school and this band's trademark was, accordingly, the straw boater. A number of reasonable pop releases on United Artists and Piccadilly. d'Abo took over from Paul Jones in Manfred Mann in 1966 and the band split.

THE BEATSTALKERS
(Glasgow, Scotland) Ronnie Smith (guitar & vocals) Davis Lenox (vocals), 'Tudge' Williamson (drums) Alan Mair (bass) and Eddie Campbell (organ). Hailed as Scotland's answer to the Beatles which they clearly were not! The Beatstalkers changed their line up in '67 and split in '69. Eddie Campbell went to Tear Gas which was eventually taken over by Alex Harvey.
